Jaipur is the capital city of the state of Rajasthan was planned by King Jai Singh in the 18th century. It was the land of opulent royalty in by gone days. Rajasthan has their peculiar way to cook food. Different Dal or pulses are mixed together cooked and seasoned with spices to give it flavor. Baati is made from wheat flour. It is roasted in tandoor and eaten with dal. Gatta ke sabji is made from channa flour and cooked with gravy. Ghevar is a very popular sweet dish. Churma is made by crushing baati and adding sugar to it.

Johari bazaar is visited for jewelry precious gems and cotton fabric. Ramganj is the market for puppets and jutis or shoes in the most traditional style. M.I. road has all traditional items of Rajasthan such as brass work, blue pottery, marble items jewelry and quilts. Kishanpol Bazar is famous for tie and dye items.
